Parents & Friends Fellowship (PFF)

The PFF is a committee comprised of parents and friends of Pacific Hills who have a desire to get involved in their children’s education and the school community. Our objectives are to build relationships between parents and teachers; to build relationships between parents and parents; to create an environment where parents feel comfortable and part of the school community; and to bring parents to Christ.

We are always pleased to welcome new members to the PFF committee and encourage them to bring along their ideas and enthusiasm to our meetings. The PFF meet a couple of times each term to discuss and then advise the school of any issues that need to be addressed. Our aim is to have a parent representative for each year group from Prep to Year 12. We currently have openings for the following year groups, and while certainly not limiting membership to these years, we would invite parents of students in these years particularly to consider joining: Prep, Kindergarten, Year 2, 4, 5, 9, 11 & 12.

The PFF organises activities throughout the year which are open to all parents and friends of Pacific Hills. These activities allow you to get involved and enjoy fellowship with the school community. These include events such as Parent Discussion/Information Nights, Spring Fair and Social Nights. The PFF is also involved and supports Pacific Hills’ many events where parents are linked with the school, for example, Open Days and New Parent Evenings.

Prayer Group

9.00-10.00am, Fridays
Staff Common Room

Join our group of passionate parents who meet together each week to seek God’s heart for Pacific Hills, as we pray into the life of the school and the school community. In the five years since our group formed, we have seen many prayers answered and God move in powerful ways in the lives of students, teachers and parents.

We pray for our students and what God is doing in their lives, for school ministries and camps, for teachers and staff, and for members of our community who are ill. Whatever the need, we bring it to our Heavenly Father. We also praise the Lord for the many ways He is at work and what He is already doing. We love to go back through our Prayer Journal and see how God has answered our prayers and give Him praise.

Once a year we prepare a special Thank You Morning Tea on behalf of all the parents as an act of love and service for the staff, to show our appreciation for all that they do for our students. Our group is also involved in running a Koorong Bookstall at the annual Spring Fair. At the end of each school term we enjoy fellowship together by going out for lunch.

Our desire is to see God glorified!

Soccer Club

www.phdsoccerclub.com

Pacific Hills Soccer Club is a parent initiative that exists to provide an organised and safe environment for team sports, fellowship, Christian development and growth for the students, parents and friends of Pacific Hills Christian School.

The club was formed in 1999 by a group of parents as a result of some Year 9 students from Pacific Hills Christian School who requested to play soccer together regularly. Students were surveyed for expressions of interest, with an overwhelmingly positive response resulting in a committee of teachers and parents forming to establish this club. The club has experienced continued growth and now has 290 players across 26 teams.

Teams from Under 6 to Over 35's compete in the local community Gladesville-Hornsby Football Association (GHFA) competition. All junior games are played every Saturday morning between April and August. You don't have to be a student or parent of Pacific Hills Christian School to play in one of our teams. Everyone is welcome! We look forward to you joining one of our club’s teams and enjoying the social and physical aspects that the game of soccer can bring to players, parents and spectators.
